Activity of the deputy M. N. Bogdanov in the constituent assembly. To the 140th anniversary of his birth

The article is devoted to the life and activities of Buryat political leader of the early 20th century Mikhail Nikolayevich Bogdanov in the most difficult period of the Russian history, as well as to the elections to the Constituent Assembly, which was to determine the path of the country’s further development. The Central Buryat National Committee (Burnatcom) and its Irkutsk department got involved in the election campaign by nominating their candidates and laid the groundwork for participation of the Buryat population in the elections. M. N. Bogdanov was elected as an assembly member from the Buryat people. The article analyzes his letter to Burnatcom, where he gave the assessment of the preparation for the Constituent Assembly establishment by the party of Social Revolutionaries, who gained the majority of seats, and expressed his opinion on the confrontation between the Social Revolutionaries and the Bolsheviks. M. N. Bogdanov described the difficult conditions of his life in Petrograd.
