The article reveals the consideration of the peculiarities of the activities of the German company “Kunst and Albers” in the Far East in the conditions of political instability of the region. The chronological framework of the study covers the period from the foundation of the organization to the beginning of the First World War. The paper analyzes the impact on the activities of the trading house of events related to military conflicts, international crises, civil unrest. It is noted that in conditions of serious external risks, the owners of the company managed not only to keep their business, but also to make profits. This was achieved due to the presence of significant assets at the enterprise, which made it possible to cover unforeseen expenses and made it possible to adapt to the changed conditions. A significant role in this was played by the ability of the company's owners and employees to take justified risks, to respond promptly to changing market conditions.
