In the article, the activities of Catholic and Orthodox missioners, the existence of the Catholic and Protestant communities on the territory of China in transitional period - the time of the final fall of the Kuomintang regime and establish the Communist party of China. This period was in many ways a turning point for the Orthodox Church in the Chinese territory, a gradual withdrawal from the "religious" arena of China. However, active development of Catholicism and Protestantism. Based on existing literature and archival documents, statistical data according to the number of believers and clergy, on the financial condition of the Catholic missions. Conclusions are made about relative activity of Catholics and Protestants in the South, the East and North of the country. There is almost complete lack of information on their activities in the Western regions of China. The author notes that to date, not explored all aspects of the history of Catholic and Protestant churches in China.
