The activity of credit institutions of Kazan in the second half of the nineteenth century

The article is analyzed the process of establishment of credit institutions in the second half of the nineteenth century in Kazan. It is noted that all types of credit institutions, generally specialized for the Russian Empire, were actively developing in Kazan, a large trade and administrative center. It is emphasized that the activity of credit institutions had been an important contributor in the development of the financial system of the country, in implementation of the basic principles of financial policy, the revitalization of industry as well as trade and social care in Volga region.
