Activity of folk sobriety's patronage of the Orenburg province as an important element of leisure's organization of population at the late 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century

The article is devoted to the role of Orenburg folk sobriety’s patronage in organization of reasonable leisure of local population with the purpose of distract them from abuse of alcohol. The author reviews the basic forms of Patronage’s activity: organization of folk libraries, folk readings, courses and schools, teahouses, theatrical performances, etc. She recognizes the great merit of cultural and educational establishments in distracting citizens from antisocial behavior and in helping them to organize cultural leisure.
