Activities of the Russian Archaeological Institute in Constantinople based on the materials of its reports for 1895-1910

The article presents an analysis of the activities of the Russian Archaeological Institute in Constantinople for the entire period of its reporting. The scientific and research work of the institution in the regions of the former Byzantium and the presentation of its results in the press and at scientific congresses is considered. Scientific discoveries and achievements that resulted from trips and archaeological expeditions organized by the institute are outlined. The role of F.I. Uspensky and A.I. Nelidov in the formation and development of the institute is shown, the research role of F.I. Shmit is noted. Attention is paid to details and organizational circumstances not included in the reports.
