Activities of Soviet architects in assessments of branch research

The architects of the Soviet period as a result of their work left a unique source for the study of culture’s social history. The history of design or construction is a matter for the study of branch historiography (art history). This article discusses the creative side of the architects of the Soviet era. Soviet culture is represented not as a set of ideological systems, but as a process of creative development. Group of architects is a carrier of a particular culture, which is still poorly investigated by specialists in social and cultural history. The author refers to an industry research model to determine the range of questions that may be interesting historian. In this paper there has been made an attempt to view architect as a representative of special social sub-group of intellectuals.
