Operations of Soviet intelligence agencies on the Karelian front for the liquidation of Finnish intelligence schools (1942-1944)

Based on a wide range of the documents, primarily on archivalsources, the article presents an analysis of the operations ofthe military counterintelligence of the Karelian Front andregional NKVD bodies of the Karelo-Finnish SSR for liquidationof Finnish intelligence schools in the operational zone of theKarelian Front. Special attention is given to cooperation of thehead of the 4th Department of the People's Commissariat ofInternal Affairs of the USSR Pavel A. Sudoplatov and the 4thdivision of the People's Commissariat of Internal Affairs of theKFSSR. It is shown that due to Soviet counterintelligence’seffort, Finnish and German intelligence didn’t manage tocommit any important sabotage in the rear operational zone ofRKKA during the Great Patriotic War
