Student sports leagues’ activities as a factor of mass sports development in Russia

The article presents analytical materials that characterize the activities of student sports leagues and their influence on certain aspects of the development of mass sports in Russia. The physical fitness and sports performance, organizational, financial and economic indicators of the leagues’ activities are analyzed. On the basis of this analysis, four possible scenarios for the development of student leagues are identified, taking into account the specifics of groups of sports - team games, martial arts, individual types. The authors formulate conclusions about the possibilities for further development of student sports through the creation and development of a system of sports competitions in various sports.
