The work of Verkhneudinsk municipal public government in the civil war

The article deals with the fate of urban public government, which is closely connected with the political changes and upheavals in 1917-1920. The data from the State Archive of the Buryat Republic, the State Archive of Trans-Baikal Territory, concerning the studied period, gives us an opportunity to re-create the most complete picture of work of urban public government in Verkhneudinsk. Based on the extant materials we have studied the legal status and forms of activities of Verkhneudinsk City Council in the conditions of civil war, military intervention and fight of Bolshevik forces for the influence in Trans-Baikal region.
