This paper focuses on the problem of the representation of Homer’s myth in the novel «Faserland» by Christian Kracht. The analysis of this work showed that the «Odyssey» is not the basis of the plot, but the material for the deconstruction. The plots of the myth are transformed and «roll over». The canons of journey-novel are destroyed again and again in the novel of Kracht. So the structure of the novel becoms a practical confirmation of the theory, which was presented in the Manifesto «Tristesse Royale».

Modern german novel, motivic analysis, "golf"-generation, transformation of the plot, deconstruction of the myth
