The problem of the impact of demographic policy on the state of economic security of the state is becoming especially relevant for the Russian Federation in an unfavorable macroeconomic and geopolitical environment. A sharp decrease in the number of economically active population and increased problems in the field of migration policy are added to the systemic challenges in the form of population aging and low rates of population reproduction at the turn of 2023/2024. In the article, the authors review the role and place of demographic policy in the system of economic security measures of the state, give a description of the functional areas of economic security, in relation to which demographic processes are directly and indirectly influenced. The illustrated integration of demographic policy priorities into the system of functional state policies and national projects confirms the importance of human capital management issues by influencing demographic processes and in the conditions of the post-industrial economy, the knowledge economy. In the context of the identified functional spheres of influence of demographic policy on the economic security of the state, it is particularly in demand to build a comprehensive system for assessing, analyzing, forecasting and designing population movement processes based on the tools of socio-economic policy.
