Demographic situation in Orel oblast

The author assesses the situation with reproduction of population in Orel oblast as very acute. Analysis of the numerical data for 1980-2006 results in a deplorable prognosis about a considerable further reduction of the region population. It shows necessity of taking urgent measures for mother and child protection, propagation of proper family lifestyles and family values, raising the prestige of family in Russia on the whole.
