This article represents an attempt to find out the impact of the Great Patriotic War on the age-sex composition of indigenous minorities of the North part of Yakutia, i. e. Evenki and Even, on the basis of the materials of All-Union population census of 1939 and 1959. Information regarding these nations is inaccurate since during the population census Even could be recorded as Evenki and vice versa. Nevertheless, evaluation of the available information makes it possible to identify the main tendencies and population trends of these nations. Population of Evenki was significantly reduced by 8,9 % during the period from 1939 through 1959. The number of men born in 1900-1924 (in 1941, they aged from 17 to 41 years old) decreased by 2,3 times, while the number of women born in the same years decreased by 1,8 times. Over 20 years the number of the Even population increased by 13,3 %. However, population of Even born in 1900-1924 (both men and women) decreased by 1,5 times. The performed study brings us to the conclusion about the most harmed categories of Evenki and Even; the men population of age groups of 35-39 years appeared to be significantly reduced in 1959. In 1941, they aged from 17 to 21 years.
