Demographic processes and agricultural production in Vyatka village in 1939-1945

The paper represents an attempt to track changes in the demographic situation in Vyatka village in 1939-1945. On the base of archival sources, statistical data and scientific literature the author tries to track the changes in the agrarian population structure on the basic demographic indicators such as quantity, birth rate and death rate, sex ratio. Such factors as the Great Patriotic War and the related mobilization to the front, the death of the population, a sharp decrease in the able-bodied population of the countryside, at simultaneous increase of the cultivated areas and labour loading on peasantry are taken into account.
