Demographic crisis: far eastern case study

Бесплатный доступ

Currently, the demographic problem in Russia is very acute, especially for the Far Eastern regions. In most of them, in recent years, the natural and migration loss of population has increased, the poverty level is high, which leads to a decrease in the availability of food as the most important condition for ensuring human life. The current demographic situation and the depletion of human capital have an adverse effect on the parameters of socio-economic development, which hinders the possibility of implementing long-term plans for geostrategic territories, which include the Far East. Unfavorable trends are significantly due to disproportions in the sectoral structure of the economy, associated with high property segregation in society. To successfully solve the demographic problem and implement the strategic tasks of advanced socio-economic development of the Far Eastern macroregion, first of all, it is extremely important to solve the problems of low quality of life. It is important to ensure gradual balancing of the sectoral structure of the economy by activating and diversifying investment processes and creating new jobs not only in the extractive industries, transportation and manufacturing, but also in the agro-food sector, healthcare and social services, infocommunications and scientific and technical sectors of the economy, transport and logistics and market infrastructure. By creating sustainable macroeconomic prerequisites for improving people's living standards and ensuring balanced socio-economic development, it is possible to "retain" the remaining population and attract new residents to the Far East, including through internal migration. This will ensure the most complete implementation of the state's strategic objectives for sustainable socio-economic development.
