Money in the modern and traditional societies (the psychology and anthropology of money)

The author examines attitudes towards money in different types of society. With this object in mind, he compares the role of money in the Trobriand Islands and Altai Krai, in the superstitions of Eastern Slavs and in the modern society. He shows essential differences in the perception of money and its role in the traditional society compared to industrial, since the behaviour of people towards money can differ from the one prescribed by modern economic theory.
