Gender peculiarities of depression among cardiological elderly inpatients

The prevalence of comorbid depression among elderly cardiological inpatients was investigated. Brief version of Geriatric Depression Scale was used in the research consisting of 15 questions. The results indicated presence of depressive disorders in 34,7% of females and 14,8% of males. Gender differences in the prevalence of different symptoms of depression were revealed. The results of present study highlighted the relatively high prevalence of depression among elderly cardiological inpatients, witch suggest the necessity using the screening tools for depression in this category of
