The early iron age wooden shovels (Altai and neighboring regions)

Article is devoted to a cross-disciplinary research of one of economic categories and household wooden objects - shovels. In early Iron Age burials in Altai and cross-border regions in Mongolia and Kazakhstan various types of wooden shovels and their fragments was found. This fact demonstrates their wide circulation in space and application in life. The early Iron Age shovels surface traceological analysis has shown that the majority of these products are made “quickly”. Technic-technological and comparative-typological analyses of artifacts have shown continuity of traditions of the choice of materials, tools and receptions and ways of their production.
