Ten-year experience of hand-assisted laparoscopic operations in colorectal surgery

This paper represents the ten-year experience of performing hand-assisted laparoscopic operations in laparoscopic surgery, comparing them to conventional laparotomies. Authors conclude that despite increased operative time (by 40 minutes average) hand-assisted laparoscopic operations are not associated with increased incidence of postoperative complications and those which had developed don’t require reoperations.
