Determinants of crimes committed in relation to minors, using information technology on the internet

The article is devoted to studying the factors that determine the commission of crimes committed against minors through the use of information technology on the internet. The rapid development of information technology and the internet, as well as widespread adoption of mobile communication devices (smartphones and tablets) in everyday life, have led to significant positive changes in different areas of society. However, despite these positive developments, there is still a potential risk of misuse of the internet for criminal activities. Minors, in particular, are vulnerable to such risks when using the internet. Criminal activities involving the use of advanced information and communication technologies pose a serious threat to minors. The theoretical basis of the research was scientific works on the problems of criminalistic study of the personality of a minor who suffered from cybercrime. In the course of the work, general scientific and special methods of scientific cognition (analysis, synthesis, comparison, analogy, modelling, system - structural method, etc.). As a result of the conducted research, topical issues, including controversial ones, of forming a knowledge system accumulating a set of information on crimes committed against minors using information technologies on the Internet were identified, and the need to improve a number of scientific areas on the topic under consideration was determined. The specific features of crimes committed in cyberspace against minors due to the existing situation have been identified. The current directions of the development of the issues of using cyberspace to counteract the commission of crimes, which significantly determine the mechanism of its commission, are analyzed. The directions of research on the identity of the perpetrator of cybercrimes against minors are outlined.
