Acute obstructive bronchitis is a multifactorial disease, the leading pathogenetic link of which is inflammation of the lining of the bronchial tree. Purpose: the study assessed the significance of bioimpedansometry in acute obstructive bronchitis against the background of obesity in children. Materials and methods: 50 patients with acute obstructive bronchitis were examined, who were divided into 2 groups depending on the severity of bronchial obstruction. Results: The study showed that patients with moderate to severe bronchial obstruction had higher BMI, body, subcutaneous, and visceral fat percentages compared to mild bronchial obstruction (P < 0.05; P<0,001). Conclusion: the bioimpedansometry method can be used in patients with acute obstructive bronchitis to determine severity both as a diagnostic test and to determine the prognosis of the disease, which makes it possible to recommend it for use in practical healthcare.
