Diagnostic of hibernated myocardium with ECG-synchronized single-photon emission tomography in patience with post-infarction left-ventricular aneurysm

In the present study we analyzed the capability of ECG-synchronized single-photonemission computerized imaging tomography in assessment of myocardial viability andidentifying hibernated myocardium in the post-infarction zone in patients with CHD andleft ventricular dysfunction. We demonstrated that perioperative assessment of myocardialperfusion and LV function allows us to predict improvement of LV function and risk of majoradverse cardiac events after revascularization. A standardized approach to complex analyses of myocardial perfusion and LVfunction allows the verification of different combinations in perfusion-functional ratio andallows the reliable identification of hibernated myocardium when screening patients forsurgical revascularization.
