Diagnosis and surgical correction of Mirizzi’s syndrome

The article presents the clinical experience of surgical treatment of 57 patients with Mirizzi syndrome. All patients were examined according to the standard, with particular emphasis on ultrasound findings (43.2%) and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (RCH) (40.2%). During operations, intraoperative cholangiography (IOHG) was performed if such complications were suspected. Most patients are operated on laparoscopically. In Mirizzi syndrome type I, due to the complexity, we preferred minilaparotomic cholecystectomy with IOHG, and also sanitized the lumen of the choledochus with antiseptic solutions when indicated. In the final stage of the operation was done with external drainage T-drainage or formed hepatico jejuno anastomosis by Roux.
