Thanks to the development of veterinary medicine, many previously unexplored pathologies against the background of hormonal changes are currently being diagnosed, and treatment improves the quality of life of sick animals, they include: hyperdrenocorticism. In ours a case of hyperadrenocorticism was detected in 4,9% of dogs that contacted a veterinary clinic and in 33,0% of all animals with endocrine disorders. Due to the slow course, the symptoms of the disease have long remained invisible to the owners of the pets, which in turn leads to a belated visit to the veterinary clinic. In addition to the hidden course, the disease is complicated in differentiation due to the symptoms inherent in many endocrinopathy. Moreover, hyperadrenocorticism can cause complications of not only the endocrine system, but also other organs. The above features determine the importance of diagnosis and in -depth study of pathology. To diagnose this disease, an integrated approach is required, including not only a routine clinical examination, biochemical and general clinical blood tests, but also a suppressive test with low doses of dexamethasone. The most characteristic clinical manifestations do not differ in specificity: polyuria, polyfalia, polydipsy, alopecia, decrease in activity, decrease in muscle mass, sagging of the back, an increase in abdomen. With this disease, a vectoril drug was prescribed, the active substance of which is trilostan. The drug has proven effectiveness due to numerous studies. With the correct selection of dosage and compliance with the recommendations for taking the drug, a good therapeutic effect is observed, which helps to improve the quality of life of the animal.
