The article considers the issues of the diagnostics of unusual states in the study of handwritten texts; such factors as alcohol and narcotics intoxication, and other factors affecting the change in handwriting are given. The authors raise the issues of assessment of experts' conclusions, as well as the need to develop new techniques in expert's study of handwritten texts.
