Polygraph Diagnostics of the Person’s Awareness of the Number of Situations of his own Delinquent Behaviour

Introduction. The polygraph test on the number of cases of own delinquent behavior ensures avoiding the accusatory bias of the tests of the control questions methodology, and also, unlike other tests of the hidden information detection technique, may be used in the case of a widely publicized occurrence of an event under investigation. Materials, Results and Discussion. The authors developed and tested Test on the number of cases of own delinquent behavior. Most of the results of the test were confirmed by the findings of a corresponding internal investigation. Some of the test results remained in an area of uncertainty. About 10% of the analyzed test results were disproved by other investigative methods, which may be due to both our mistakes and those of the persons conducting the official investigation. Conclusions. High diagnostic efficiency of Test on the number of cases of own delinquent behavior suggests recommending it for use in examenations via polygraph in professional psychological selection and investigation of criminal cases.
