This article presents the findings of an investigation into the leadership environment within a major furniture store. The company's approach to leadership is analyzed, focusing on the identification of leaders among employees and the associated challenges. The research revealed that despite the existence of a leadership development system, the process of identifying potential leaders relies on unstructured methods, leading to unbalanced choices and inefficiency. The article emphasizes the importance of using objective methods to identify informal leaders, promoting them to managerial positions within the company. The significance of internal transformations for the company in terms of hiring and developing leaders is underscored. To address identified issues, the use of test procedures is proposed. Recommendations based on the conducted research aim at formulating objective criteria for identifying potential leaders and fostering their further career growth within the organization.
