The diagnostics of marathon runners’ competitiveness

The article presents results of the analytical research studying the competitiveness concept in the context of sports activities. The author distinguishes two basic elements in the structure of athletes’ competitiveness: potential and fulfillment. The competitiveness level is suggested to be considered as a backbone factor of sports activity. The paper presents the diagnostic algorithm for evaluation of the marathon runners’ actual competitiveness level.
