Dialectics of tradition in the hermeneutical methodology of H.-G. Gadamer

The article is devoted to the dialectic relation of truth, tradition and history in the framework of the hermeneutical methodology of H.-G. Gadamer. The hermeneutical understanding of the union of reason and historical tradition is analyzed. The author justifies the idea of “true medium " in the history of culture as a harmonious unity of opposites of tradition and historical development.
