Diatoms from sections in Big Synya river (Subpolar Urals)

Fossil diatoms from the Big Synya river basin (the Usa river’s left tributary, Subpolar Urals) were studied. Freshwater diatom complex, which was found in the peat-aleurite sediments in one section, was formed in the running shallow water conditions. Some marine algae in Quaternary sediments of North-Eastern Europe are discussed too. Since these diatoms were redeposited, they cannot prove the sediment genesis.
