Differentiation of innovative development of regions and its impact on the economic security of the state

The article reveals the connection between the state of the innovative sphere in the subjects of the federation and the level of economic safety of the regions and the country at large. It is defined that the innovative activity in the regions should be evaluated with the complex of indices which actually reflect the development and functioning of the innovative sectors. It is shown that the considerable gap in the indices characterizing the innovative activity is the serious threat to protection of their economic safety and the territorial integrity of the state.
