Digital-children: the analysis of myths and real problems

This article is devoted to a review of the problems associated with the dissemination of the information and communication environment and its integration into the sociocultural space of childhood, as well as the analysis of myths that exist in society in connection with ICS. A general classification of the problems associated with this process is given. Changes in cognitive activity (memory impairment, decreased ability to perceive information, inability to critically evaluate what has been read / seen) and features of the socio-cultural behavior of digital children (focus on material success, reduction of communication, self-interest), including from the point of view of ethnocultural patterns, are examined. The argumentation debunking myths related to ICS is presented. Various reasons are given for parents actively letting ICS into their children’s lives. The issue of transferring traditional socialize (primarily the education system) to digital space is also raised.
