Wild food plants in the flora of Chechnya and prospects of their practical use

The data on useful types of natural flora of Chech-nya separated in various sources for the purpose of enrichment of the range of the plants used in the food purposes are generalized. The observations were made by traditional route method, especially interesting sites were investigated in more detail, and floristic lists were formed. The analysis of wild-growing food plants of the Chechen Republic is provided in the study. Useful prop-erties, use in food are specified by various people living in the North Caucasus some advantages of wild-growing types to health from the point of view of preven-tive medicine, in particular environmentally friendly and safe food for phytogenesis are noted. Food plants of various purpose are described: fruit and berry, nut bear-ing, vegetable for production of drinks, juice, marinades, conserves, jams, fruit butter, fruit candy used in fresh or dried way, applied to the production of tea and coffee drinks in candy store, canning industry or in winemak-ing. The big list of aromatic types used for seasonings and other purposes is provided. Used parts of plants (leaves, stalks, bulbs, rhizomes, tubers, fruits), negative consequences of excessive use of separate types (haw-thorn and ephedra) are specified in all cases. Among food plants the views from various systematic groups, families, childbirth and biomorph (trees, shrubs, grasses growing in various high-rise belts and habitats are de-scribed. In many cases options of using concrete plants in food purposes are described. In the study more than hundred species of the plants used in food by the peo-ple of the Caucasus and Chechnya are described. Skill-ful use of reserves of wild-growing plants, fruits and berries will allow making our usual daily food allowance more various, tasty, useful and which is the most im-portant, healthy.
