The paper describes the theoretical and methodological bases of studying the viability of the personality, considers its structural components, the relationship with different personal characteristics, the impact on the success of the personality in situations of high complexity; it explores the psychological and pedagogical conditions of the viability formation of the personality; describes a structural-functional model of the viability formation of students during their higher learning, evaluates its performance and the dynamics of personality characteristics.
