The dynamics of state-Islam relations in the conditions of transformation of Russian society

The article deals with the mechanism of formation of state-Islamic relations in Russian society since the period of transformation. It is asserted that state-Islamic relations had the specific features at different stages of their socio-cultural and historical development. The article reveals the contradictory nature of relations between the state and Muslim organizations, which is associated with the dogmatic features of the religion, its tradition, sacralized norms, and the mentality of adherents. Islam has a special political significance, this is due to its traditional important consolidating and integrating function in Muslim society.
