Dynamics of characteristics of publication activity in the Russian fundamental science in comparison with the BRIC countries

The authors analyze a number of formal parameters characterizing the publication activity of Russian scientists in comparison with the BRIC countries and the global flow of publications in general. In particular, it is the dynamics of the annual number of publications, the rate of change in this number, the dynamics of changes in the share of publications in the world stream, the distribution of Russian publications by language of their publication, co-authorship at the country level. The analysis covers the period 1993-2017 and is based on the processing of Web of Science data.
