Results of 55 patients with chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension quality of life assessment are presented. Quality of life was assessed with SF-36 questionnaire before and after pulmonary thromboendarterectomy. Our data suggests that quality of life of patients with chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension is initially reduced and depends on heart insufficiency functional class and exercise tolerance. Quality of life does not depend on pulmonary hypertension degree. We revealed that pulmonary thromboendarterectomy contributes to quality of life improving in patients with chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension.
