The article analyzes the dynamics of crimes related to drug trafficking and crimes committed while intoxicated. The dependence of indicators on socio-economic conditions in the region is considered. It was shown that the deterioration of the material condition of families was accompanied by a statistically significant increase in the cost of purchasing alcoholic beverages. It was found that an increase in the number of people taken for the first time in a dispensary for alcoholism was statistically significantly accompanied by a decrease in the level of crimes committed while intoxicated. The number of people taken to the preschool for drug use reaches its maximum in 2001, then this indicator begins to decline. From 1995 to 2001, the number of people taken to drug-addicted children with a diagnosis of drug addiction and the number of crimes related to drug trafficking are growing simultaneously. Since 2002, the number of people taken to DU varies slightly with increasing crime rates. The conclusion is drawn: the medical and preventive work carried out with people taken at the preschool for alcoholism gives a result in the form of a decrease in the number of crimes committed while intoxicated. Taking on drug addicts’ preschool children is not accompanied by a decrease in the number of crimes related to drug trafficking. Since 2002, the emergence of new drugs with narcotic effects, but not included in the list of drugs, did not provide legal justification for taking such persons to dispensary records; preventive work was not carried out with them, which was one of the reasons for the increase in the number of crimes related to illegal drug trafficking.
