Dynamics of blood parameters in rats at intragastric introduction of lotus nut-fruited (Nelumbo nucifera) seeds extract

Dynamics of blood parameters at intragastric introduction of lotus nut-fruited seeds extract is studied. The extract has been prepared from the dried up and crushed seeds in apparatus Soksleta. Animals received an aqueous solution of lotus nut-fruited extract and as group of comparison - a normal saline solution daily at a time from 10 o'clock till 12 o'clock, in a dose of body mass of 50 mg/kg. Have been researched: percentage ratio between various kinds of leucocytes, amount of erythrocytes and leucocytes, degree of peroxide hemolysis of erythrocytes. Intragastric intro-duction of lotus nut-fruited seeds extract did not lead to appreciable changes of blood parameters that testifies to ab-sence of toxic effect of extract.
