Dynamics of heart rate variability in highly qualified gymnasts

The purpose of the study: to study the dynamics of HRV parameters with time-varying breathing patterns of highly qualified gymnasts. During the stress testing, a vivid switching of the main mechanisms of regulation was observed in athletes of different sports specializations. At rest, the activity of the high-frequency component of the spectrum (HF) prevailed, which decreased with bradypnea and tachypnea. The activity of the low-frequency component of the spectrum increases linearly in the gymnastics group, both in the first and second parts of the experiment, in contrast to the group of athletes engaged in rhythmic gymnastics who had a two-phase effect. The decline is associated with an increase in the activity of the high-frequency component of the spectrum. VLF -did not change in rhythmic gymnastics and increases slightly in gymnastics with reduced breathing at the beginning of the study.
