Dinamics of the causes of enucleations and eviscerations in the Samara region for the last five years

Terminal painful glaucoma and complications of severe eye injuries are taken the first place in the structure of causes of enucleations and eviscerations. Considering the tissue saving orientation of modern ophthalmology, our aim is to ensure maximal cosmetic and medico-social rehabilitation of patients after enucleation. Number of these surgeries has decreased by 12.3% over the last 5 years in the region. It has happened because of the reducing the number of enucleations and eviscerations in patients with severe complications of penetrating wounds and blunt injury with rupture of membranes of the eyeball, it is associated with improving quality of conservative and surgical treatment of eye injuries.
