In subjects (n=43; men 19-21 years) investigated the spatial characteristics of p1 EEG activity and the effectiveness of cognitive activity, which was modeled using a computerized version of the Gorbov-Shulte test (red-black tables). In successful subjects, who performed the task without errors, receiving instructions about the upcoming task and the direct execution of the test led to an increase in the functional cooperation of homologous occipital, parieto-central and frontal areas of the right and left hemispheres of the cerebral cortex, relative to the initial state. The subjects who made one or more errors were characterized by the relative inertness of the structure of coherent interrelations in the p1 band of the EEG at the stages of intellectual activity. The results of this work are an addition to the previously made conclusion of the authors that the achievement of a high result of intellectual activity is provided by the lability of inter-central relations, manifested in the mobility of the structure of coherent relationships of the potentials of the EEG main frequency bands in accordance with the specifics of the activity and the functional significance of rhythms.
