The paper contains the results of the investigation of the features of dynamic characteristics of a rigid non-symmetric rotor on hybrid bearings. It is shown that combining of rolling-element bearings and fluid-film bearings in series eliminates the main shortcomings of the bearings. It also allows using their benefits at different operation regimes. The effects of stepwise change of dynamic characteristics of the bearing are substantiated. The paper also shows the method of calculation of critical frequencies. The method allows considering the features of operation of hybrid bearings during calculation of vibration resistance of a rotor-bearing unit.
