Trial by jury in Russia: evolution of legislative approaches

The article presents a brief historical review of the institute of trial by jury in Russia, as well as modern problems of its functioning. The author refers to the foreign experience of the jury trial. Various opinions of scientists are analyzed, the author's judgment on the studied problem is expressed.
