Discourse of social media in the light of formation of socio-cultural space of society

The article conceptualizes the specifics of the social media discourse and identifies its main characteristics in the light of the progressive process of the formation of the information culture of society. The potential of social media as a space for the functioning of civil society and the achievement of public consensus is examined. The risks of destructive effects on communications on the Internet in the information society are investigated.
