Discursive lexicography: prospects for studying polytical metaphor

The article examines notable trends in modern areas of linguistic research: political metaphor studies, discursive lexicography and political lexicography. The purpose of the article is to identify the prospects of discursive lexicography in the systematic description of political metaphor. The authors provide an overview of existing innovative discursive dictionaries of political vocabulary and dictionaries of metaphors and justify the possibility of creating a discursive dictionary of political metaphors based on the material of the Chinese language, which will reveal peculiarities of their use in Chinese culture and of their translation into Russian. This type of dictionary is modern research that makes significant contributions to lexicography and political linguistics. It will enable researchers, linguists, political scientists and translators to better understand the specifics of political communication in China and its impact on the formation of public opinion.
