The controversial aspects of the Russian industrial capitalism birth in the works of Plekhanov V. Georgi and other researchers

This article deals with the controversial issues and problematic aspects of the period determination of the domestic industrial capitalism birth in the works of Plekhanov V. Georgi and other researchers. Based on detailed analysis of existing literary sources, in the paper it is concluded that the issue about a period of domestic industrial capitalism genesis is remaining a debatable until today. The article author attempts to understand the issue through a critical analysis of existing historical files, as well as domestic researchers' developments. In particular, there is considered Evgeni Yu. Spitsin's opinion, a famous historian and author of a five-volume textbook “His- tory of Russia in maps, portraits and photographs from ancient times to the twentieth century”, that the birth period of the Russian industrial capitalism coincides with the practical implementation of the Peter I, the great Russian Emperor - inform- ant, by times. The contributor is given a critical assessment of V. Berdyanskikh's viewpoint, a historian-ethnographer, about simulating the presence of large industrial enterprises due to the fact that artisans had been united in workshops inside a city. Further, in this paper there is conducted a comparative analysis of the process of domestic and western (European) manu- factories emergence, the result of which is concluded that the Russian emerging manufacturing industry had been covered a small number of sectors by the early of seventieth century and had belonged to the governmental ownership. The role of old believers in the forming domestic industrial capitalist manufacture is also examined. The article is stressed that the old believers had showed a firm commitment to the economic rationalism principles embodiment in the private labour behavior- ism. In the field of entrepreneurship the natives of old believers' environment had been very successful in this respect, than the representatives of noble families and “average” members of the League of the Russian “millionaires”, having a not-noble origin. The key attention is paid to Georgi V. Plekhanov's viewpoint concerning the Russian industrial capitalism genesis, as well as his contemporaries - the people and the Bolsheviks. Based on the conducted research results, the article author is done a number of scientifically-proven conclusions that in the Russian Empire of the beginning of twentieth century there had been neither social, nor economic, nor historical preconditions for the socialist revolution accomplishment.
