The article analyzes the practices of remote electronic voting, implemented in the regional electoral process and in the 2024 presidential elections of the Russian Federation in the context of their influence on the formation of e-democracy in the country. The authors show that electronic voting has a visible impact on the electoral activity of Russian citizens, gradually predetermining the institutionalization of a new form of their political participation. The authors indicate current problems of remote electronic voting in terms of the development of e-democracy in modern Russia, such as the presence of digital regional and intergenerational gaps, as well as citizens’ concerns regarding the transparency of this procedure in connection with the novelty of digital information and communication technologies and ideas about their privacy.
