The processes of development of technologies taking place all over the world, the transformation of means and methods of transferring information contribute to increasing requirements for the training of specialists. Graduates of professional educational organizations should be able to work in the new conditions of the “knowledge society”. New technologies related to distance learning are being introduced into the educational process. The purpose of this article is to summarize the experience of teaching students in a distance learning format in the disciplines of the natural science cycle. The methods, techniques and means of teaching most effective for such conditions are shown and analyzed, pedagogical problems are presented, the solution of which contributes to the achievement of the intended educational aims. The problems faced by teachers and students during the transition to a distance learning format are analyzed. The work used a complex of general scientific methods: analysis, synthesis, analogy.
